As Snapchat continues to grow in popularity and age up, the app has recently rolled out new features all designed to make it more user-friendly. These changes can improve the experience on a personal level as well as professionally.
If you’re not already, be sure to create a story with your snaps. Once you’ve taken a picture or a video, besides just sending it to friends, click the “My Story” option. Everyone who is following you will have access to this content for 24 hours. Users can now select whose stories they view. Be sure you’re making content that offers some sort of value to the people on your friends' list. This will keep them coming back for more.
Users can now create group chats too. Up to 16 friends can be involved in these conversations and have access to the pictures and videos shared. Snaps in the group setting can only be opened once and replayed once, just like a regular Snap. These messages also have a shelf life of 24 hours.
Individual messages can be sent through the group chat too. Just click on the Snapper you want to engage in a one-on-one conversation with. Group chats offer all the available features on Snapchat including stickers, Bitmojis and videos.
You may have noticed the scissors at the top of the screen now. This feature allows users to snip out part of a Snap and make it into its own sticker. That sticker is then available in the sticker drawer (where all the emojis and Bitmojis are stored). Creating stickers can be a fun way to share a message with a more personalized touch.
Bloomberg reports ten billion videos are being viewed on Snapchat each day. This tool can no longer be ignored. It’s not too late to embrace this form of social media and create original content for your market.
